Anna Andersen is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and co-founder of NINA FILMS, whose work explores the vitality of female identity and the power of the unexpected. Her most recent short, THE SOLACE OF SISTERHOOD, premiered at Tribeca and won the 2024 New Orleans Film Festival Jury Award and is officially Oscar-qualified for 2026. Her previous short, THE PROMISE OF SPRING (executive produced by Fujifilm) premiered at DOC NYC and earned a Vimeo Staff Pick.
Anna’s films have screened at Tribeca, DOC NYC, Rhode Island International FF, and Hamptons International FF, earning honors like the Grand Jury Award at the New Orleans FF and Audience Award at Florida FF. Her work has been commissioned by PBS, featured in Forbes, and selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick. She is also a proud member of The Explorer’s Club and actively supports emerging filmmakers through the Video Consortium’s global mentorship program.
She is currently in post-production on her debut feature documentary, THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM — a film that follows three disabled sailors aboard a universally-accessible catamaran as they redefine what adventure, healing, and freedom look like for people with disabilities.
